We celebrated my mother's 80th birthday on August 5, 2023. She was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in 1969. Over the last 54 years, my mother has used every kind of brace available to help reduce swelling and to support and strengthen her weakened joints as RA, along with other types of Arthritis, wreaked havoc throughout her body. These braces have been used to hold, support, catch, correct, and stabilize her as she moves through life. Diversity in clinical trials is essential because, recently, my mother had to have a custom brace made. Proof that one size doesn't fit all. In the jingle, I'm Stronger Now, I used words describing what it has meant to my mother to use a brace all these years. And in return, she has become our support.
