Being a Black queer person from the south, I've lost a lot of family to various illnesses. Because of the underrepresentation of Black people in clinical trials (and healthcare at large), it has been more difficult for us to receive healthcare that could save our lives. If clinical trials don't accurately represent the experiences of Black people, or asian people, or trans people, or poor people... then how can they possibly hope to prove themselves in a world full of diversity.
