I met my friend, Parvaneh, which means butterfly in Persian, in watercolor class. She is a true artist, and a caring generous person. Parvaneh creates art daily out of anything handy, then gives it away to friends, family, or acquaintances. But she almost died from complications related to brain tumors. Thanks to medical advances requiring many clinical trials (e.g., diagnostic tools, MRIs, medicines, surgical techniques, oncologist's and doctor's know-how), she is again able to create and live a somewhat active life. She is a medical miracle...and an inspiration.
