In 2004, I almost died from brain tumors which also affected surrounding blood vessels. Because of clinical trials which have advanced diagnostic tools (e.g. MRIs, medicines, surgical techniques, and oncologist's and doctor's knowledge), I am able, once again, to live, to paint, to create art, and to enjoy what I especially love: flowers, plants, butterflies (the meaning of my name in Persian), and nature. One tumor is inoperable, so each day is a gift. I try to make the most of life. I'm still here.
